Jennifer Lee



Jennifer currently works as a Senior Consultant – Social Sustainability with GHD, one of the world’s leading engineering, architecture and environmental consulting firms. Social sustainability is about improving human well-being through understanding and addressing the social dimension of sustainability, and is an important element of community development. Jennifer’s work focuses on adopting people-centred processes to investigate and respond to the needs and aspirations of individuals and communities.

In this role Jennifer is involved in the development and implementation of stakeholder and community engagement plans, social impact assessments, social infrastructure audits, community consultation, design and delivery of learning and development programs and risk identification and management.

Prior to taking on this role with GHD in September 2009 Jennifer had spent 8 years working with the Tasmanian government in a variety of policy and project roles across the Departments of Premier and Cabinet, Justice and Economic Development. Jennifer has a strong academic and professional interest in the areas of social policy, community capacity building and participatory policy making and through her recent professional and academic work she has developed a detailed knowledge of organisational development and contemporary leadership theory and practise.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Policy from the University of Tasmania as well as a Masters Degree in Public Administration (Policy) from Flinders University.

Jennifer joined the OST Board in December 2008.
