Resident Scott meets the
cast of Pinnocchio

In 2005 an ABI Unit was established at Oakdale Lodge. Since moving to Oakdale Services Tasmania, clients have had the opportunity to constantly explore all of their options for personal development.

Not content to just maintain the health and well being of the clients, it is the aim of all within the ABI unit to assist clients to reach their full potential.

Good communication and interaction between family, clients and staff is recognised as an integral part of clients' development. Family and friends are encouraged to join in client activities and have attended events such as the circus, sporting events, concerts and dining out.

One client has been supported in an interstate visit to family; on a holiday to a resort hotel on the Gold Coast; and a visit to Melbourne. On this last mentioned trip he met up with past workmates and friends and enjoyed an AFL match.

Clients are keen to catch up with past and present friends, clubmates and workmates. Many people are becoming more aware of this, resulting in regular visits and invitations to clients to attend social events.
