Career Development

Oakdale Services wants staff to develop, as it believes this is one of the major keys to providing quality service to our clients. It can also assist staff to obtain qualifications accepted Australia wide and which may be recognised overseas.

A formal induction is undertaken by all new staff, which includes "buddy shifts" with experienced staff members.

After completion of the three months probation period you will participate in compulsory training modules on various aspects of support work. These will be provided either in-house or externally and be free of charge. Salary will be paid during attendance.

You will also be encouraged and assisted to gain formal qualifications with a Certificate 3 and 4 in Disability work. You may then be assisted to gain further qualifications at a Diploma level or above.

Team Leader and Management training is provided in such areas as effective communications, managing people and supervision.

Indivdual staff training needs are assessed through our Performance Management system.
