Acorns Get Together
The Acorn Branch has been the longest running and most active group in support of Oakdale Services Tasmania. This amazing group has been operating since 1975; raising much needed funds; organising entertaining functions and outings; and, most importantly, building friendly relationships over the years between the group and the clients.

Originally formed as the Oakdale Auxiliary the first meeting was held on June 24th 1975. The first function held was a morning tea with an entry fee of 40 cents and an amount of $125.00 was raised.

The Branch has raised over $130,000 since then, with all monies used to benefit the clients. They provide gifts and equipment for clients and contribute to Capital works as well as providing functions and outings.

The Traditional
Acorns Christmas Party

A highlight each year for all clients is the Oakdale Christmas party, hosted by the Acorns. This is no doubt the strongest tradition we have, one immensely enjoyed by all involved.

The Acorns meet on the second Monday of each month at Southern Branch house, at the Lodge site. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed with new members or guests always welcomed.
